Top US trade officials will travel to Beijing next week for another round of negotiations with their Chinese counterparts, as the world’s two biggest economies inch closer to a new trade deal.
Robert Lighthizer, US trade representative, and Steven Mnuchin, Treasury secretary, will travel to China on April 30 to continue negotiations on a trade deal with China’s Vice Premier Liu He, the White House said in a statement.
Mr Liu will then lead a delegation to Washington for further discussions starting on May 8.
