Facebook has been accused by the UK parliament of giving some developers preferential access to data, as it published hundreds of pages of emails which paint a picture of a disregard for privacy.
The Digital, Culture Media and Sport select committee published private conversations between top executives, including Mark Zuckerberg, which revealed the social media giant held preferential “whitelisting agreements” with a number of firms, including Netflix and Airbnb, regarding their access to user data.
The DCMS report goes on to claim Facebook tried to make it “as hard as possible” for users to understand records of their calls, and texts would be collected as part of an Android mobile system update.
