Renault has moved to beef up its presence in the Chinese market, agreeing a joint venture with
Brilliance China Automotive to tap into the country’s booming minivan market.
The venture, which will be 49 per cent owned by the French carmaker and 51 per cent owned by Brilliance, will get ¥1.5bn worth of fresh investment, about €200m, from the two companies, says the Chinese group.
