Donald Trump has called for an investigation into his claims that voter fraud helped Hillary Clinton win the popular vote in the US presidential election, in a controversial move that follows criticism of the new White House for pressing the allegations without evidence.
In the latest example of Mr Trump unveiling his plans on social media, the president took to Twitter early on Wednesday to call for a probe.
“I will be asking for a major investigation into VOTER FRAUD, including those registered to vote in two states, those who are illegal and even, those registered to vote who are dead (and many for a long time). Depending on results, we will strengthen up voting procedures,” Mr Trump tweeted.
