Donald Trump’s pick to run the main US crypto watchdog accused the Winklevoss brothers of interfering with his nomination in a dispute over the agency’s case against their digital currency exchange, Gemini.
In posts on X on Wednesday afternoon, Brian Quintenz suggested Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, founders of Gemini, asked Trump to pause his nomination as chair of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
He cited an exchange over how the agency handled an enforcement case against the platform, which is set to go public in an initial public offering on Thursday.
