
Pakistan’s army has arrested the former director of its powerful spy agency, Faiz Hameed, and has begun proceedings against him, making him the first-ever spymaster to face a court martial in Pakistan’s 77-year history.
The military on Monday said Hameed, who headed the Inter-Services Intelligence agency, is charged with violating the terms of his retirement from the armed forces, and faces additional charges over his involvement in a land development issue.
