US president Joe Biden has warned Iran against escalating the war between Israel and Hamas into a broader regional conflict, after back-channel talks between Washington and the Islamic republic.
In an interview broadcast on Sunday, Biden was asked if he had a message for Iran and Hizbollah, the Lebanese militant group it backs, to which he replied: “Don’t. Don’t, don’t, don’t.”
Questioned on CBS’s 60 Minutes if he was referring to Iran and its proxies crossing the border and escalating the war, Biden replied: “That’s right.”
