European countries still pay only “l(fā)ip service” to defence collaboration, according to the head of one of the region’s largest manufacturers, with procurement priorities mainly driven by national considerations.
Michael Schoellhorn, chief executive of Airbus Defence and Space, said that despite the war in Ukraine, the level of collaboration between countries and between industries had “deteriorated over the past few years”.
